St. Luis Cardinals.... A Very Rare "Our National Game" 1930s pin of Hall famer Dizzy Dean from the set known as “Our National Game Pins”. These 7/8” pins that were catalogued by the ACC (American Card Catalog) with a designation of “PM8” were issued 70-years ago featuring 30 of the game’s top stars. There was a find of these some twenty plus years ago and even then, high grade examples were tough because of the way they were manufactured (thru the lithograph process where the inks were printed directly on the metal tin making them highly susceptible to scratches). All the printing is on an off-white 70 years old and are extremely hard to come by, especially the ones of Hall of Famers. This one is in beautiful shape and is still intact with the original card backing inc background. The tab has never been bent. These tabs are overluded. A must have for any vintage sports collector or Dizzy Dean fan! |
